That is why we provide ongoing training in areas such as confined space entry, electrical spotters safety and manual handling for members of staff.Greg PattonGreg Patton started in the civil construction industry many years ago as a self employed owner operator, undertaking odd jobs for local farmers and residents. An increase in building activity on Phillip Island changed his direction more into General Contracting, building domestic fences, digging stump holes & block clearing.In 1976 the first stages of Sewer Reticulation was started in Cowes. For the next three years he subcontracted to Prentice Bros & Minson then Fortress Contractors with his first backhoe/front end loader. In 1978 he formed a partnership with a local builder. They broadened their work base to include building, tree felling, sewer & water reticulation, plus demolition works for various builders and home owners. In 1997 Greg’s partner decided to return to building, which is when Greg founded Terrafirma Excavations Pty Ltd. It started as a three man operation with two machines and, with Greg’s enthusiasm and commitment; it has grown to the business it is today. IMS/Quality ManagementAfter a lot of hard work and commitment, TerraFirma Excavations received Certification on the 9th April 2008 in the following International Standards;
To date we have completed three external Audits successfully, identifying areas that can be improved as well as areas that we excel in. Our aim is continual improvement within our business, and by carrying out these audits, we are identifying areas that will improve our business methods. By following procedures and environmental, safety and quality instructions laid out within the Integrated Management System, not only do our clients benefit, but ultimately our business does as well.
