Excavators

Astro Boy– Check back soon!	Garfield – Sumitomo SH 120-3. Garfield is a 12tn standard configuration excavator. It has a long dipper fitted giving a digging depth of 5.5mtrs. This excavator is the mid range of our fleet, a very popular and capable machine. It comes with an extensive range of buckets and attachments including a full range of dipping buckets 1800 wide mud bucket, sieve bucked, compaction wheel, compaction plate, rock breaker and ripper.
Felix– Komatsu PC 130-8. Felix is a 13tn standard configuration excavator. Also fitted with a long dipper giving a digging depth of 5.5mts. This excavator was purchased to replace Garfield but work commitments required us to utilise both. Felix shares the extensive range of buckets and attachments with Garfield.	Hagar – Sumitomo SH 200-3. Hagar is a 20tn machine and is at present the largest excavator in our fleet. It is a standard configuration excavator capable of digging to a depth of 6mtrs. We have a range of digging buckets and 1800 wide mud bucket and a ripper to fit this machine. It is well suited for bulk excavations works.
Agro– Yanmar V10 55-5. Agro is a 5.5tn excavator with a removable canopy for access to areas with low clearance. Agro has steel tracks with rubber pads fitted, eliminating damage to roads and pavements. These machines have zero tail swing plus has a blade fitted for back filling and stability. Agro has a digging depth of 4 metres and an overall width of 1990mm, plus it has a wide selection of digging buckets, mud/clean up bucket, compaction wheel, grab and a hydraulic breaker.	Stimpy – Yanmar V10 35-5. Stimpy is a 3.5tn mini excavator with a removable canopy for access to those very confined areas. This machine has zero tail swing and a front blade fitted. It has a digging depth of 3.3 metres and an overall width of 1550mm. Stimpy has rubber tracks so there is no scuffing of paving surfaces. We have our largest range of buckets and attachments to suit this size machine. Standard and tilting mud buckets, digging buckets 225, 300, 350, 400, 450, 500, 600, ripper, grab, compaction wheel, auger and trencher. A very versatile and popular machine.
Ralph– Yanmar V10 35-5. Ralph is a 3.5tn mini excavator with a fixed cabin. It shares all the features of Stimpy but if head clearance is an issue Stimpy would be the preferred option.	Scooby Doo – Yanmar V10 1.7-5. Scooby Doo is a 1.7tn mini excavator. The baby of the fleet. It has a digging depth of 2.3 metres and an operation width of 1.28 metres. However it has retractable tracks and a fold back blade which gives it an access width of just 950mm. Scooby is fitted with rubber tracks and has a removable canopy so when access is tight, with all the for mentioned features, this machine excels. 900 wide mud bucket, digging buckets 225, 300 and 450.
Bart – Komatsu PC 55 Mr-3 excavator; fitted with a removable canopy to allow access to areas with low clearance. It also has rubberised cleats fitted, eliminating damage to roads and pavements. This machine has zero tail swing allowing work to be undertaken in tight access areas. It also has a front blade fitted for back filling and stability. Bart has a digging depth of 3.8mtrs and an overall width of 1.96mtrs. It comes with 3 digging buckets and a mud/clean up bucket.

Loaders

Scooter – Yanmar V4-5. Scooter is a 3 tn articulated loader with 4in front bucket. Scooter is fitted with low ground pressure balloon tyres. It has an operating width of 1.57mtrs and front bucket capacity of approximately .5 3 metre. A versatile small loader.

Daffy– Kawasaki 65ZV loader. Daffy is a versatile, high productivity wheel loader for a wide range of applications from asphalt and concrete plants to road construction. Featuring a Cummins 6BTAA5.9 diesel engine producing 99 kilowatts, a 2.43mtr bucket, a certified ROPS cab and a host of other features that provide high operating efficiency, ease of maintenance and safety, the 65ZV is always ready for heavy duty jobs.

Puddy– Bobcat S250 Hi Flow Skid Steer. Puddy is a little bigger than your average skid steer and is capable of lifting around 2tn. Fitted with a multi purpose 4 in 1 front bucket plus various attachments ie trencher, forks, scarifier, broom and slasher make Puddy a very versatile machine.

Trucks

Spike – Mack Trident Tipper and Super dog combination. Spike is the latest vehicle to join our fleet and the first combination we have purchased solely for bulk cartage purposes. The truck and dog have a very low tare, sporting alloy wheels and full aluminium tipper body. All on air bag suspension. The engine puts out 500HP plus has that low down American truck style grunt. Even at this early stage it is returning in excess of 2km per litre.	Casper – International 3600 prime mover with a Cummins 1714 engine. Casper is primarily used for floating machinery to and from sites, utilising our quad axle, expandable float, capable of legally shifting equipment with a weight of up to 35 tonne. We also have a semi tipper trailer which we use when the truck is not on floating duties.
Shultz – ME2CGDGS Benz 2644 Tandem tipper with super dog trailer. Shultz is used mainly for cartage duties for civil works and delivery of mulch, top soil and sand from our depot. Both the truck and super dog have Bis alloy floors so they can be used for cartage of more aggressive materials. Shultz has a 103mt capacity and tag super dog 12.53mtrs.	Ren– Hino GH 5 mtr tipper. Ren is used in conjunction with Stimpy (3.5tn excavator). It is used to float the excavator to job sites. Then supply or remove materials as required.
Fozzie – Hino FC 5tn tipper. 3mtr capacity. Fozzie is used in conjunction with Ralf (3.5 tn excavator). It is also used to float the excavator to job sites. Then supply or remove materials as required.	Molly– Mazda T4000 tipper, 3m capacity. Molly is Scooby Doo’s (1.7tn excavator) partner and is used for associated works with that machine.
Gonzo – Mustang 2tn articulated 4WD dumper. Gonzo is not a high use machine. But when materials have to get in or out of a site and the ground conditions are wet, steep or confined Gonzo shines.	Putz– International 3600 9 3mtr tandem with a Cummins N11 engine. Putz is the roustabout of our tipper fleet, used with the 10,000lt water tank for dust suppression on site and general tipper duties, and also tows our single axle tag float for smaller machine site deliveries. Tag tipper body is made from Bis alloy so the truck carts a lot of concrete for recycling spills and other aggressive loads.
Water Tank – 10,000ltr tank and frame. Complete with pump, sprays and hoses. This tank is easily slipped into a 9mtr tipper truck and we use it mainly on civil work sites for dust suppression and road making.	The Plumber’s Truck – Hino Dutro tray with purpose built body. This truck is stocked with a large variety of equipment and fittings so works can be undertaken and completed on site without leaving.
Cartman – Volvo A30 GWD articulated truck fitted with wide high floatation tyres. This vehicle is able to operate in wet conditions that pull up most wheeled machines and is used in conjunction with our 20tn excavator for bulk earthworks.

Other equipment

Sylvester– Komatsu GD555.3A Gaileo grader. Sylvester has a 3.6mtr molboard. It is large enough to handle our civil work requirements but compact enough for road and track maintenance. Fitted with rear rippers/scarifiers plus a roller. This machine is an integral part of the civil works side of our company.	Taurus – 2006 D6N LGP, PAT Blade. Low ground pressure, able to work in very wet conditions. Mainly used in subdivisions and bulk earthworks.
Rolly – Ingersoll Rand SD77,7tn smooth drum vibratory roller. It also has a pad foot kit for compaction of clay and soil. This roller is physically smaller than a 12tn so is able to operate in tighter areas but still delivers enough force to meet or exceed compaction requirements.	Trommel – Doppstadt SM518 Pro FI Trommel Screening machine. This drum type screen is mainly used for processing top soil and sand. Removing grass, stones, clay and other impurities leaving a clean product suitable for hand raking and finishing.

Phillip Island Tree Management

Started by Jeff Walton and Greg Patton in the mid 1970s, it was then known as Patton & Walton and was built up until sold to Shane Sullivan in the mid to late 1980s. Shane renamed the business to Phillip Island Tree Management, which he successfully ran until he left Phillip Island. Scott and James Patton purchased the business in 2005 and it came into the ownership of TerraFirma in late 2007.

TerraFirma and PITM work well together with each utilising the other’s staff, machinery and equipment as required.

Dale– HinoFC 5tn tipper with a steel canopy over the tipper body. Giving a capacity of approximately 103mtrs. This tipper is used by our tree felling crew to tow our Vermeer BC 1500 chipper to site plus cart the product produces.	Chip – VERMEER BC 1500 – This machine is capable of chipping branches up to 400mm in diameter. It seems to have an unsatisfiable hunger for trees, and it takes quite a few men to keep the branches up to it. It pairs with a Hino FC Tipper with a purpose built canopy on the tipper body, giving a capacity of approx 10 cubic metres of mulch before having to empty the truck.
Flex – GENIE TZ50 – Our first trailer type EPV, with access to trees becoming more restricted because of multiple dwellings becoming more prevalent on house blocks, our truck mounted EPVs were becoming obsolete, the TZ50 can be disconnected from the tow vehicle and manouvered through car ports or tight access sites by hydraulic drive motors. Once in position will reach up 15 metres.	Stump Grinder – Rayco 1635A Super Junior – This machine is compact and highly manouverable as it is self propelled, with a 35 hp motor, it is a powerful machine, capable of grinding stumps of all sizes.
